Who is responsible?

DUR Mediehus, organisation number 937 655 355, is the controller for information used for newsletters, supporter registration and enquiries. Contact John Alan Reese at johnalan@durmediehus.no.

The Noe i Den DURen newsletter

We use your email address and any name you provide to send the newsletter and manage your subscription. Signing up is voluntary and based on consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). We cannot deliver the newsletter without an email address. Withdraw consent using the unsubscribe link in an email or by contacting us.

Ghost manages signup, subscriber records and delivery on our behalf. Unsubscribing stops delivery. Unsubscribing and deleting your subscriber record are separate actions: contact us if you also want your record deleted. A subscriber record may remain stored in Ghost after unsubscribing, including to respect that request. Ask us to review and delete the record if you wish. Documentation needed for a specific dispute or legal requirement is assessed separately.

Supporters and payments

We use your name, email address, amount paid and payment date to match your payment, confirm your support and manage the 12-month period. This is necessary to fulfil the supporter agreement (Article 6(1)(b)). Without registration details, we cannot send a personal confirmation. Becoming a supporter does not subscribe you to the newsletter.

We use these details during your support period and afterwards for reconciliation or unresolved payment questions. Payment documentation is retained further where accounting rules require it (Article 6(1)(c)). Banks process bank transfers. When a Vipps payment link is used, Vipps MobilePay processes payment details. Do not email us card numbers or BankID details.

When you contact us

We use your sender address, name and message to respond and follow up. Ordinary enquiries are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in answering questions (Article 6(1)(f)). Correspondence is retained while a matter is being handled and afterwards where it documents an agreement, payment or unresolved claim. You may request information about our balancing of interests and object to this processing.

Our email providers, including Domeneshop and Gmail, process email. Only send information needed for your enquiry. This notice covers website and service administration; journalistic processing of tips and source material is assessed separately.

The website and external services

OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare deliver this website. Hosting providers process technical information such as IP addresses and browser information to deliver and secure the service. Our interest is stable and secure operation (Article 6(1)(f)).

Our own website code does not use advertising or visitor-measurement cookies. On pages with signup forms, Ghost form code loads from jsDelivr and your browser connects to Ghost. Those providers receive technical information when that content loads. Following an external link also brings you under the destination service's privacy information. Ghost describes its processing and subprocessors in its privacy information and data processing agreement.

Providers may use subprocessors outside the EEA. Their agreements describe locations, transfer grounds and safeguards. Contact us for information about processing relevant to your subscription or enquiry.

Your rights

Contact us to request access, correction, deletion or restriction. You can withdraw newsletter consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Portability applies where the conditions are met for automated processing based on consent or contract. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Required retention can limit deletion of payment documentation.

We do not use the information covered by this notice for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. You may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority. We will communicate material changes in how we use information to the people affected.
